START TALKING:
We live in a world of trends and followers. What are some examples you've seen of people trying to jump on trends to (in all reality) impress other people? What are some of the more bizarre things you have seen people do to impress other people or be like other people?
START THINKING:
Read 1 Samuel 15:1-9. What did God tell Saul to do?
What did Saul do instead?
Read 1 Samuel 15:10-15. What did Saul attempt to justify?
Read 1 Samuel 15:16-25. What did Saul say was the reason he did not fully obey God? What were the long-term consequences for this?
START SHARING:
Saul's worry about what people thought about him led him to compromise and do what they wanted and thought was right rather than what God told him to do. When have you found that you are prone to compromise obedience in God because of what people think?
Even after Saul was told that there would consequences for being more concerned about people than he was what God thought of him, he still prioritized their opinions of him (1 Samuel 15:30) over what God said about him. What spiritual priorities get distorted when we worry more about what people think than what God thinks? When have you experienced this?
START DOING:
Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-15. Only the one who died for me matters! What can you do this week to live out this verse and this truth?
Read 2 Corinthians 10:5. How can this verse help you this week when you find those thoughts creeping in to worry about what someone is going to think about you?
START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the micro church to embrace the truth that their Father loves them unconditionally and gives us more than good enough in exchange for our not good enough. Pray that we each have an opportunity to share this truth and our story with our "one" this week!

MULTIPLICATION
Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
- Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
- What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
- How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
- How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
- Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
- Discuss the next step for your micro church. When will we gather again, and which purpose will it fulfill (missions, fellowship/care, growth, worship, multiplication)?/giveback/giveback

Proverbs 29:25 NLT
Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.
Bottom Line: A healthy fear of God sets me free from the unhealthy fear of what people think.
1 Samuel 15:24 NLT
Then Saul admitted to Samuel, “Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the LORD’s command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded.
1. Fear of what people think leads to compromise.
1 Samuel 15:30 NLT
Then Saul pleaded again, “I know I have sinned. But please, at least honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel by coming back with me so that I may worship the LORD your God.”
2, Fear of what people think distorts my priorities.
1 Samuel 15:34-35 NLT
Then Samuel went home to Ramah, and Saul returned to his house at Gibeah of Saul.Samuel never went to meet with Saul again, but he mourned constantly for him. And the LORD was sorry he had ever made Saul king of Israel.
3. Fear of what people think has long-term consequences.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 NLT
Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.
4. Only the one who died for me matters.
