ANNOUNCEMENTS

Seek First - January 1st - 31st
As we begin 2026, we’re starting with prayer. Seek First is a church-wide prayer initiative inviting every oneLifer to commit to one hour of prayer between January 1–31. Our goal is simple: to establish a rhythm of prayer that puts God first as we step into a new year. When you sign up, you’ll choose an hour to pray on your own—wherever you are. You’ll receive encouragement, devotionals, and a practical resource designed to help you make the most of your hour of prayer. Together, we’re believing God for renewal in our hearts, restoration in our cities, and revival beyond ourselves. Whether it’s one hour or many, your prayer matters.
Let’s seek Him first—together. To register go to onelifeknox.com/seekfirst.

2 Timothy 2:15 NLT
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

Bottom Line: Knowing what the Bible really says helps me know how to really live.

2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

2 Peter 1:20-21 NLT
Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understandingor from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

1. The Bible is divine.

Hebrews 4:12 NLT
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

2. The Bible has power.

Matthew 4:4 NLT
But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

3. The Bible has authority.

Acts of the Apostles 17:11 NLT
And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.

4. I need to know for myself what the Bible really says.

Matthew 24:11 NLT
And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.

START TALKING

What is something from everyday life you believed or were convinced was true, and maybe even others did, too, only to later to find out you had misremembered it or the common understanding had been wrong all along?

START THINKING:

How would you explain 2 Timothy 3:16 to someone else in your own words? How does this make the Bible so much more than a text book?

Read 2 Peter 1:20-21. Why is this an important concept to understand? If the Bible was simply words and opinions written by human authors, what would change about its power and authority?

START SHARING:

Read Hebrews 4:12. What are examples that you have experienced where you found new truths in old stories or verses you had heard and read before?

When have you experienced the Bible being active in your life by helping you understand or process something you were going through? When has it helped you to realize something about your life even when there wasn't a specific verse applying to that specific situation?

When have you had to submit to the authority of God's Word in an area where it teaches or instructs something that you wish was different? How does seeing yourself as the child in the story and God as the Father who knows and wants what is best for you affect the way you can submit to even the hard things?

START DOING:

Read 2 Timothy 2:15. What is a rhythm of reading and studying the Bible every day that works for you? What have you found helps you stay consistent with this practice?

How can you turn to the Bible when you have questions arise in conversation with other people to be able to "correctly explain the truth" as 2 Timothy 2:15 says to do?

START PRAYING:

Pray for each person in the micro church to apply God's Word to their lives in every area. Pray that each person would experience the divine, powerful, authoritative Word of God. Pray for each person to be daily studying God's Word for themselves to know what it really says so they know how to really live.

  - What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
  - How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
  - How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
  - Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?
