Bottom Line: Unity is a key to spiritual momentum.

1 Corinthians 1:10-17 NLT

10 I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. 11 For some members of Chloe’s household have told me about your quarrels, my dear brothers and sisters. 12 Some of you are saying, “I am a follower of Paul.” Others are saying, “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Peter,” or “I follow only Christ.” 13 Has Christ been divided into factions? Was I, Paul, crucified for you? Were any of you baptized in the name of Paul? Of course not! 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 for now no one can say they were baptized in my name. 16 (Oh yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas, but I don’t remember baptizing anyone else.) 17 For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13 NLT

12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. 13 Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.

1. Division is a momentum killer.

2. Be mindful of what unites us.

3. We are united by Christ.

START TALKING
This morning, we talked about how unity is a key to Spiritual momentum. Focusing on the idea that we are called to do life with and be unified with others. How have you seen your relationships with others affect your own spiritual momentum?

START THINKING
Read 1st Corinthians 1:10 - Why do you think Paul pleaded with the church in Corinth to live in harmony?

Read 1st Corinthians 12:12-13 - Why do you think Paul made it a point to name the different people groups? What does this say about the body of Christ?

START SHARING
Read 1st Corinthians 1:10-17 - Have you ever been around a divisive person? How did it affect your Spiritual Momentum?

Has there ever been a time when you realized that YOU were being the divisive one? How did you correct this?

Read 1st Corinthians 12:12-13 - What do you think it means to be a part of the body of Christ?

Have you ever had to fight for unity? How did it go?

START DOING
If we think of unity as a key to spiritual momentum, how can we reflect this in our daily lives?

How will you use your story and your changed life to make a difference in others to impact their eternity? WHO will you impact?

START PRAYING
Take a moment to pray for each person - that God will continue to shape our view of the Kingdom of God - that God will help us fall more in love with Jesus and the work he is doing in us. Pray that God gives us opportunity to impact others for eternity.

MULTIPLICATION

Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
  - Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
  - What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
  - How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
  - How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
  - Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
