MyOneLife - A 4-Week Sunday Morning Small Group Experience
The first step for every OneLifer to get involved and get to know our church culture and mission is a 4-week small group experience called MyOneLife. It takes place on Sunday mornings in the Meeting Room at each of our campuses. You’ll learn about the vision & values of our church, discover your personal mission & spiritual gifts, and find out tons of ways to get involved. The next MyOneLife will start Sunday, September 13th, so for more information or to sign up, mark the “MyOneLife” box on your Connection Card.

Alpha Groups, September 1st
Alpha Groups are a place to ask questions, explore faith, and have honest conversations about life and God—no pressure and no judgment. Each interactive session gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts, hear from others, and explore what you believe in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Whether you’re questioning your faith, curious about God, or simply looking for a place to explore some of life’s biggest questions, Alpha is for you! Alpha begins Tuesday, September 1st at our Ball Road Campus. Invite a friend, neighbor, or co-worker and come explore together! For more information or to register go to onelifeknox.com/events

Baptism
If you’ve given your life to Jesus but haven’t gone public with your story through baptism, now is the time to take that step! Baptism is an opportunity to publicly declare your faith, celebrate God’s work in your life, and take the next step in your journey with Jesus. We would love to walk with you through this process, answer your questions, and help you experience the joy of declaring your faith through baptism.
Mark the baptism box on your Connection Card, and we’ll help you get started!

Bottom Line: Winning is standing firm.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NLT
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

1. Prepare

Ephesians 6:13 NLT
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

2. Don't be surprised.

Ephesians 6:13 NLT
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

3. Do my part.

Ephesians 6:13 NLT
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

4. Stand.

START TALKING:
When have you found that staying put or "standing" was the best way to win, succeed, or advance? Maybe it was staying in one line, one lane, waiting for the medicine to work, staying disciplined with a savings plan, etc.

What was the temptation to find a quicker solution? What action were you tempted to take rather than staying put? Did taking the action work out? Why or why not?

START THINKING:
Read Ephesians 6:10-18.
How many times do you find words like "stand" or "resist"? What does this tell us about our first and primary role in spiritual warfare?

What references do you see in this passage about preparing? Why is this so important and yet so often overlooked?

START SHARING:
How have you found that you are best able to prepare? When are you best able to prepare? What happens when you aren't prepared and the battle comes?

Verse 13 tells us the battle IS coming - it doesn't tell us what to do IF the battle comes. Should this cause us fear? Why or why not? How does acknowledging this reality help us to prepare adequately and appropriately?

When have you faced a battle and not being surprised by it helped you stand firm? Why did it help you stand firm? Which parts of the armor were most helpful for you? (Re-read verses 14-18 if you need to!)

START DOING:
Verse 13 says "after the battle" implying that you will have to fight. Other translations say this phrase differently as "after you have done everything." What is your part that you feel God is leading you to do this week? What specific battle comes to mind and what is your part?

Re-read Ephesians 6:18.
What does this verse specifically tell us to do that is the ultimate preparation and battle tactic? How will you do that this week?

Read Romans 5:3-4.
How does standing firm in the battle prepare you to have a story to tell others? What can you do with the hope that you have after the battle to share your testimony to your "one"?

Who is your "one" that we can all be praying for and praying that you have an opportunity to share your story with this week?

START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the micro church and the battles they have shared. Pray for each person's "one" that they are intentionally investing in and striving to make a difference in their life. Pray for each person in the micro church to be fully prepared this week to stand firm no matter what the evil one throws their way.

MULTIPLICATION

Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
  - Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
  - What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
  - How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
  - How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
  - Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?

WHAT'S NEXT?
  - Discuss the next step for your micro church. When will we gather again, and which purpose will it fulfill (missions, fellowship/care, growth, worship, multiplication)?
