Bottom Line: The Gospel doesn’t just save me individually, it creates a united community.

Galatians 3:26-28 NIV
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faithfor all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

A united community with…

1. …a new identity.

2. …new clothes.

3. …a new equality.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

START TALKING:
When have you been part of a team or community that had such a strong and clearly shared mission that it didn’t matter what other divisions existed in the group because everyone was striving to accomplish the same thing?

START THINKING:
Read Galatians 3:26. Think about what you inherited or will inherit from your parents. Now compare that to what you inherit from your Heavenly Father. What do you think it means to be His heir? What do you inherit?

Read Galatians 3:27. What does the image of putting on new clothes help you to see or understand as it relates to follow Jesus?

Read Galatians 3:28. If this was written in a modern context, what might Paul have used to write this? There is no longer ______ nor _______?

START SHARING:
What has it meant to you for your identity to be Jesus alone? What does it look like for you when Jesus is your identity?

What do you notice about people who are clothed in Jesus? What do you want people to see in you? If people made assumptions about your faith from the outter appearance of your life, what would they see?

What do you think this passage means in terms of how you should live if we experience unity rather than uniformity? Unity rather than sameness?

START DOING:
What do you sense the Spirit teaching you and leading you to do from this passage?

What are you going to do about it?

How can you share your story (testimony) with identity as part of that? What was your identity rooted in before Jesus? What is it now?

START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the microchurch to take the steps they shared above. Pray that we experience unusual unity because of the Gospel and the new identity it brings us!

MULTIPLICATION

Share spiritual/missional conversations you've had where you live, work, and play:
  - Who did you have a conversation with that took a spiritual/missional turn this week?
  - What questions did you ask to discover where God is at work in their life, even if they are not aware?
  - How were you able to share your story of life change or how you have experienced Jesus?
  - How can you be intentional this week with people where you live, work, and play to have spiritual/missional conversations if the opportunity arises?
  - Who in your life do you think could be disciple-able or open to spiritual/missional conversations?
