START TALKING:
When have you found the perfect solution for something that you didn't think was possible before?

What is one thing that you have an irrational fear about, so much so that you don't even care what someone else might think about you and this fear?

START THINKING:
Read 1 John 4:18.
This fear is not talking about our natural fears, but something greater; something spiritual. What is it? How does this fear show up in our lives even if it isn't something often spoken about or acknowledged?

Read Luke 2:42-44.
In this verse we see the humanity of Jesus. If the word "fear' in 1 John 4:18 literally means "terror, dread, or alarm," how do we see Jesus dealing with this very thing? How does this make Jesus relatable to you and me?

START SHARING:
Read John 18:2-5.
Jesus was able to boldly step into his fear, because while he was fully man dealing with fear he was also fully God able to conquer it. When have you experienced trying to avoid fear or what leads you to fear, but when you finally stepped into it trusting God, you were able to see Him conquer that fear?

The context of 1 John 4:18 points to the reality that our greatest fear is the fear of condemnation. This can look like not really believing God has forgiven us or that my temptation/sin/addiction/insecurity is too great for God to overcome. How do you experience this fear? How have you experienced the perfect love of your Father driving out that fear?

Read Luke 22:42-44 and then read John 18:2-5. What was the difference between Jesus asking his Father to take this away from him and being in such anguish he sweat drops of blood to him then boldly facing that same fear and conquering it? What did He do and what did God do for him?

When have you experienced that same thing? Or if/when you haven't experienced that, what do you need to do that Jesus did? How do you know when you are being strengthened to step into your fear?
 
START DOING:
What can you do this week to take your fears to the Lord? Start by naming them and then honestly praying to your Father that He would take that fear from you.

Read John 19:21. How does the reality of fear impact the story of what God has done in your life, and how can you tell this story to others this week as you are sent out to live on mission?

START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the microchurch to boldly face their fears knowing that God is greater and stronger than any fear we may have. Pray that the victory given to each of us through the death and resurrection of Jesus would be on full display as we live "sent out" as those commissioned to lead others to experience Jesus. .

START TALKING:
This week we talked about what it means to do whatever it takes to bring someone to Jesus. In Mark 2, four men carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus, and when the crowd blocked their path, they didn’t quit — they climbed up on the roof, dug through it, and lowered him down right in front of Jesus.

We also looked at Luke 8 and saw a woman who was desperate to get to Jesus. She pushed through fear, shame, and risk because she believed Jesus could change her life — and He did.

The big truth from this message is this:
I will bring my one to Jesus no matter what it costs.
But before we can bring someone else to Jesus, we have to know Him for ourselves.

Discussion prompts:
Has anyone ever done “whatever it takes” for you so you could experience something meaningful?
What is a time when you did whatever it took to help someone else?
Why do you think people are often willing to go to great lengths for things or people they deeply care about?

START THINKING:
Read Luke 8:43–48
What stands out to you about the woman in this story?
What obstacles or risks did she face in coming to Jesus?
How did Jesus respond to her faith?
Why is it important that she had personally experienced Jesus?

Read Mark 2:1–5
What obstacles stood in the way of the paralyzed man getting to Jesus?What do the actions of the four friends reveal about their faith?
Why do you think they refused to give up when the crowd blocked the door?
What does this story teach us about what it means to bring someone to Jesus?

Read Mark 2:10–12
Why do you think Jesus addressed the man’s sins before healing his body?What does this show us about what matters most to Jesus?
How did the miracle impact the people around them?
What does this passage reveal about Jesus’ authority and power?

START SHARING:
The sermon said, “I have to experience Jesus before I can bring my one to Him.” How have you personally experienced Jesus in your own life?

Who is your “one” right now — someone in your life who needs Jesus?
What might be “paralyzing” your one spiritually right now? (addiction, shame, fear, brokenness, unbelief, hurt, etc.)

What obstacles might be keeping your one from getting to Jesus?

Which obstacle is harder for you to overcome — their obstacle or your obstacle?

What keeps many Christians from doing whatever it takes to help someone meet Jesus?
 
START DOING:
What is one practical way you can begin carrying your one to Jesus this week?

How can you remove an obstacle for your one? (offer a ride, invite them, pray for them, spend time with them, share your story, meet a need, etc.)

What is one fear or comfort in your own life that you may need to tear through like the roof in Mark 2?

Who can you invite to church or Easter next week?What is one sacrifice you may need to make in order to help someone experience Jesus?

How can you be more intentional about not just inviting people — but actually carrying them toward Jesus?

START PRAYING:
Pray together as a group:Thank Jesus for the ways He has changed your life.
Ask God to help you truly experience Jesus more deeply yourself.
Pray for your “one” by name and ask God to soften their heart.
Ask God to give you courage, persistence, and compassion to do whatever it takes.
Pray that God would help you remove obstacles and faithfully carry people to Jesus.
Ask God to make your church a place that removes barriers so people can encounter Jesus.

START TALKING:
What is something you love or that you now do because someone you have a relationship told you about it and invited you to experience it for yourself?

Think about your answer to the above question. What would your experience have been if someone you don't know or don't have a relationship with randomly approached you and pressured you to do it? Why was it different because someone you know and trust told you about it firsthand? 

START THINKING:
Read John 9:1-2. Before Jesus could meet this man's need, what did he first have to do as He walked along? What keeps us from seeing people and their needs?

Why do you think the disciples asked the question in verse 2? How are we often prone to assume the same thing?

Now read verse 3. What do you think Jesus meant by this response? How does this help you think through answering the question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"

START SHARING:
Read John 9:8-9. When you began following Jesus - or when you have surrendered parts of your life to Jesus throughout your spiritual journey to become more like Him - what have those around you noticed about what is different? What change have they seen like this man's friends and neighbors saw?

Read John 9:13-25 and share about the following:

What questions have you been asked (or are you afraid you might be asked) that you don't know the answers to? How would following the blind man's example of honestly saying, "I don't know," and "I think..." help you trust God more in these moments?

The formerly blind man doesn't try to convince his parents, friends, neighbors, or religious leaders of anything. He doesn't argue with them. He simply sticks to the story. Give an example of when someone did this well with you or when they didn't do this well. How did it affect your response to wanting to follow Jesus.

Now share about your experience from the other side. When have you tried to convince or win the argument with someone versus simply telling the story of Jesus and pointing to your own before and after? What was the result? When have you stuck to the story instead and how was that different?
 
START DOING:
Read Revelation 12:10-11. Jesus points to two things that defeat the enemy - the blood of the lamb and our testimony (story) being told with courage and boldness.

Go around the microchurch and share your three sentence story by completing each of these three sentences.

Before Jesus I was...
I met Jesus when...
Now I am...

Who is your one that you are praying for daily?
What steps have you taken to build relationship, earn trust, and meet needs with them?

An interesting part of the blind man's case study is that every time he told his simple but powerful story, it was in response to questions. He responded whenever there was an open door but he didn't force the door open. How can you be looking for opportunities and open doors to do the same with your one? What might be the opportunities you have to naturally share your story?

START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the microchurch and the name of their one. Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in their lives so that the door is open to share the story of how Jesus has changed your life and can change theirs, too. Pray that we each will be bold and courageous to tell our story when the opportunity arises, but also humble enough to say "I don't know" and trusting enough to let God be God.

We’re excited to welcome our rising 6th graders into Student Ministry! Join us on Wednesday, March 18th at 6:30pm in the Large Group Room at either the Ball Road Campus or Knox Center Campus. This special evening is designed for rising 6th graders to experience what a typical night at Student Ministry looks like, meet their leaders, and start building connections. Parents are invited to attend to see what your student will experience and will receive helpful resources to navigate this new season!

START TALKING:
What is something that one person did for you in your life that changed the trajectory of your life? It might be the reason that you have the hobby you have, your career, or your family.

How have you found yourself wanting to do for someone what that one person did for you? When have you done that?  

START THINKING:
Read Matthew 18:12-14. What are other or modern day metaphors or examples of when someone might be willing to leave what they have in a safe place to go find the one thing that went missing?

What would it have communicated about the value of the missing sheep if the shepherd said, "At least I still have 99. I won't worry about the one that's lost."?

How did the shepherd know that one was missing? What would this have required of the shepherd? What does this teach us about our Father? And if we are to be like Him, what does it teach us to do?

START SHARING:
When you think about your spiritual story, who noticed that you were the one that was lost? What did they do to intentionally pursue you and seek you out so that you would come to follow Jesus?

Read Luke 15:7. What is similar about this verse and the story Jesus tells about the shepherd? How is this different than the way many Christians and even churches seem to operate? Why is this the case?

Read John 10:4 and 10:14. The lost sheep is going to respond to the shepherd when he comes searching because the sheep has a relationship with and trusts the shepherd. When you think about your own story, how was trust built with you or how was a relationship vital to you being open to hearing the story of the Gospel and responding to an invitation to Jesus?

How have you intentionally pursued and reached out to someone by first building a relationship and earning trust with them?
 
START DOING:
Thinking about the four steps to reaching your one, go around the microchurch and answer each of these questions:

1. Who are you going to pray for daily? What will you be praying for?
2. What will you do this week to earn their trust and build relationship with them? What needs can you meet?
3. Before inviting them to Jesus, how can you relate your own story to them?
4. What are ways that you can invite them to experience Jesus and ultimately to follow Jesus?

START PRAYING:
Pray by name for each person's "one" that was shared in the microchurch. Check in with each other throughout the week to ask how it is going and to pray for each other. Ask God right now to give each of us an awareness to see with spiritual eyes as we notice the lost sheep around us and to have the heart of God to be willing to pursue and go after those He brings to us.

START TALKING:
Think about a love story - yours if you are married or someone else's if you aren't. What moved the relationship from a simple invitation to truly knowing and being with each other? How much did the relationship change from the day of the first invitation to where it is now or ended up?

Invitations are often the most awkward part! What was awkward or uncomfortable about the invitation that you now look back on and find it funny or silly that that's how it all started? 

START THINKING:
Read Revelation 3:20. In light of the fact that many will say "ask Jesus into your heart," what word is most noticeably missing from this verse?

Read Ephesians 3:16-17. This passage does refer to the heart, but what does this passage say Jesus is dwelling in the hearts? Hint: it's not because of a prayer or invitation! It is through ________.

What do you think this means? How would you describe faith to someone else? 

START SHARING:
Read Romans 10:9. The very first word - if - is very important! Share about the moment or time that you realized you were on the other side of that "if" and realized you needed salvation? What led you to that point?

Jesus being the "Lord" of your life requires a posture of submission and surrender. When you gave your whole life to Jesus, what did it require you to surrender? What beliefs, desires, etc. did you have to submit to Him and trust Him for what He said is true?

The word "believe" in this passage means to "rely on, commit to, cling to." It implies that nothing else matters and nothing else is relied on, committed to, or clung to. It teaches us that we have given up everything else. How have you experienced this as you pursue Jesus or follow Jesus? What has the Holy Spirit shown you through that journey that you need to surrender and submit to? What have you found is most difficult with this or that you have struggled the most with?
 
START DOING:
What have you sensed the Spirit is saying to you through this conversation and sermon? What are you going to do about it?

As we look toward Easter, we all know people in our lives who don't yet follow Jesus. Who will you be praying for that you can share your faith with and invite to experience Jesus with you? 

START PRAYING:
Ask God to help each person in the microchurch to do what they shared the Spirit is leading them to do as a result of this sermon and conversation. Pray for the names that were shared in the last question. Pray for each of us to live on mission with a commitment to be totally surrendered and totally submitted to Jesus.

Easter Candy Drive
As we prepare for our Community Easter Event on March 28th at 10am at both campuses, we’re collecting individually wrapped candy to help make the day extra fun for the families we’ll be welcoming. This family-friendly event will include interactive Easter stations, crafts, games, storytelling, and more. You can drop off candy donations in the lobby over the next couple of weeks. More details to come — we can’t wait to celebrate with our community!

Rising 6th Graders Meet & Greet – March 18th
We’re excited to welcome our rising 6th graders into Student Ministry! Join us on Wednesday, March 18th at 6:30pm in the Large Group Room at either the Ball Road Campus or Knox Center Campus. This special evening is designed for rising 6th graders to experience what a typical night at Student Ministry looks like, meet their leaders, and start building connections. Parents are invited to attend to see what your student will experience and will receive helpful resources to navigate this new season!

3. Jesus is where we find everlasting life with God.

This week we talked about a bold statement from Jesus in John 14:6 — that there is
only one path to God, and His name is Jesus.
We explored how in life there are often multiple ways to do things, but some things
can only be done one specific way. In the same way, the Bible teaches that Jesus is
not a way to God, but the way, the truth, and the life.
We saw that Jesus spoke these words to comfort His disciples shortly before His
crucifixion, showing them that He alone provides the way to the Father, the ultimate
truth, and everlasting life.

Discussion prompts:
Think of a time when there was only one way to accomplish something. How did that
make you feel?

Why do you think people struggle with the idea that Jesus is the only way to God?

What have you heard people say about how to get to heaven or have a relationship
with God?

What is an example you've seen of someone having a title but not actually living up to that title or doing what the title suggests is required?

Without doing what the title requires, were they (or you) really BEING the title? Why or why not?

Read Hebrews 10:19-25. What are the three "let us" phrases you see in this passage?

What is the progression or growth you see happen when you go from one "let us" to the next "let us" phrase?

These three statements could say, "Each of you should..." but instead they each say, "let us." What is the significance of the writer using the plural "us" instead of a singular directive "you"?

Who does this say that Christ died for or sacrificed for? Yet again we see a plural word, not singular. How has your church experience over your life displayed elements of a culture that salvation or church life is all about the individual's experience and comfort rather than about the body collectively?

What changes in the way we view salvation and the body of Christ when we embrace this truth that Christ died for the "ekklesia" rather than "Christ died just for me"?

How have you matured in your faith - or how do you need to mature in your faith - so that you go from the "baby" that only wants to be fed to the adult that helps take care of the family?

What was the culture or spiritual discipline of this early church in terms of how often they gathered and how much of a priority it was for them? Is this similar or different than your own experience? Why do you think that is the case?

Bottom Line: God will give me more than I can handle, but never more than He can handle.

1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT
13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

2 Corinthians 1:8-9 NLT
8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

2. Facing more than I can handle will feel hopeless and final.

START TALKING:
This week we talked about a common phrase — “God won’t give you more than you can handle” — and saw that the Bible actually teaches the opposite:
God will give us more than we can handle so that we learn to rely on Him.
We looked at how Paul and Timothy were “crushed and overwhelmed beyond their ability to endure” (2 Corinthians 1), and how suffering can push us from self-reliance to God-reliance.
Discussion prompts:

• Share one moment in your life when you thought, “I can’t handle this.”
  
  
• In that moment, did you lean more toward self-reliance or God-reliance? Why?
  
  

Has anyone ever said to you, “God won’t give you more than you can handle”? How did that make you feel at the time?

START THINKING:
Read 1 Corinthians 10:13

• What does this verse actually promise?
  
  
• Why is it important that this verse is about temptation and not suffering?
  
  
• How does this verse encourage you when you are tempted to sin?
  
  

Read 2 Corinthians 1:8–9

• What words does Paul use to describe his situation? Which ones stand out most to you?
  
  
• Why do you think God allowed Paul and Timothy to experience something “beyond their ability to endure”?
  
  

What does this passage teach us about what it looks like to follow Jesus in the real world?

“Cast your burden on the Lord.”

• What is one burden you need to cast to the Lord right now?
  
  

Read Romans 5:6

• If God never gave us more than we could handle, why wouldn’t we really need grace?
  
  

How does this verse shape the way you understand suffering and salvation?

START DOING:

• What are you currently facing that feels like more than you can handle?
  
  
• What would it look like for you to rely on God — not just pray about it, but actually trust Him with it?
  
  
• Who is one person you can be real with about your struggle instead of pretending you have it all together?
  
  
• What is one practical step you can take this week to depend more on God? (prayer, Scripture, counseling, talking to a friend, surrendering control, etc.)
  
  

How could your story of hardship and faith encourage someone else this week?

START PRAYING:
Pray together as a group:

• Ask God to help you be honest instead of pretending.
  
  
• Ask Him to grow your trust when life feels overwhelming.
  
  
• Thank Him that He is the God who raises the dead and is still working.
  
  
• Pray for anyone in the group who is currently carrying something heavy.
  
  
• Thank God that He meets us where our strength ends.

What is something that you started loving because someone you love loves it? When you think back on it, how surprising is it that this is something you became interested or invested in?

Read Revelation 21:5. When Jesus says, "I am making..." the verb tense is present-continuous, which means "happening now, already underway, and continuing into the future." What does this mean about when Jesus makes all things new? Is He waiting until the end of times? Or is He doing it even now? And what does this mean for those who follow Him?

Read 2 Corinthians 5:17. How does this verse support Revelation 21:5? What does it mean for people who follow Jesus? How would you explain this to someone who was new to faith or exploring their faith?

Read Matthew 7:7. Now think about the progression of each command:

- Ask: verbal request; minimal effort; acknowledges need
- Seek: active pursuit; movement involved; intentional searching
- Knock: physical action; persistence; expectation of response

And now think about the relational progression of each:

- Ask: speaking from a distance
- Seek: moving toward
- Knock: standing at the door

How have you experienced this growth as you have grown in your next steps with Jesus? What steps have you taken to go deeper in your faith?

Loving Jesus means loving what Jesus loves and in turn doing what Jesus does and celebrating what Jesus celebrates. Answer each of these questions and commit to taking one step: What can you do this week to put into action:

- Loving people far from God?
- Loving people who are hurting?
- Loving the church?

If Jesus loves growth and progress, it means He loves it when you grow and take next steps, too! What is a next step in your faith that you can take now to grow?

Pray for each step each person committed to in the last section. Pray that we live as if it is the last days - because it is - and make 2026 the best year ever!

Why do you think Joseph jumped straight to a solution without first considering God's plan? How were his reactions justified - even spiritually - at first before he considered God's plan?

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galileeto a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David.Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!”Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean.“Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God!You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. 1. Ordinary places are ripe for divine encounters.

2. Divine encounters are confusing before they are comforting.

3. Divine encounters require trust before understanding.

When have you had your ordinary, routine life interrupted by something extraordinary and you are glad it did? If you hadn't been open to this interuption, what would you have missed?

Read Luke 1:26-29. Why might Mary have been confused and disturbed? Think about the status of Nazareth, her age and gender, etc. to better understand why this divine encounter was both disturbing ad confusing.

When have you been at an ordinary place in life, either literally or metaphorically, and that is when God interrupted you with a divine encounter?

How was this disruption confusing before it was comforting? How did this build your trust?

Where did you experience the power of God through this divine encounter? Were you able to see it at the moment, or have you come to appreciate it more since then?

How does looking back on this experience prepare you for the next time God shows up and encounters you?

What can we do this week to prepare our hearts and lives to be open for a divine encounter?

How might God use you to be the divine encounter for someone else, or to be the tool that He uses?

Pray for each person in the microchurch to take the steps they shared above. Pray that we experience divine encounters because of the Gospel and the power of God it makes available to us!

When have you been part of a team or community that had such a strong and clearly shared mission that it didn’t matter what other divisions existed in the group because everyone was striving to accomplish the same thing?

Read Galatians 3:26. Think about what you inherited or will inherit from your parents. Now compare that to what you inherit from your Heavenly Father. What do you think it means to be His heir? What do you inherit?

When have you been part of a team that might not have been the most talented but because it was united, it overcame the talent gap?

Similarly, when have you been part of a talented team but division prevented you from accomplishing all that could have been accomplished?

Read Mark 3:20-29. Ironically, who is Jesus talking about when he makes this now famous quote? How do you think Jesus was using this to teach a bigger principle about life among his own followers and in the way Jesus expects us to interact with His Spirit?

Read 1 Corinthians 1:10-17. What are the divisions among the Corinthian church? What is Paul's response? How do you see similar divisions among churches and Christians today?

In 1 Corinthians 1:10, the word "appeal" or "exhort" means more than a simple request. It carries the tone of urging, pleading, or coming alongside to call someone toward something better. It is both affectionate and authoritative. Paul is not scolding; he is shepherding. When have you had someone in your life do this for you? When have you done this for someone else? What was that experience like?

The phrase "that you all agree" or in some translations "live in harmony" means making a united public declaration. Paul is saying: Let unity be your shared testimony to the world. When he says let there be no divisions among you, he uses a word "schismata," which originally referred to fabric torn apart. Paul is saying: Do not let the body of Christ be ripped into pieces.

When have you been part of a family or group that had unity in their shared testimony to the world? What was it marked by? What did it look like?

When have you been part of a family or group that was ripped to pieces? How did the division start? How could it have been avoided if there had been "unity in mind" with Jesus being the center of what mattered most?

When the verse says "united in thought and purpose" some translations say "perfectly united." This original Greek word described setting a broken bone or mending torn nets. This takes effort, awareness, and action. In other words, this verse is teaching us that unity is not accidental - it requires healing, repair, and intentional work.

What intentional steps must each of us take to have this kind of unity? What must you, personally, do to fight for and protect this kind of unity?
